about Nieves
With two decades at the helm of Spanish cuisine in London, Legado is the second solo restaurant from Chef Patron Nieves Barragán Mohacho, following the beloved Sabor in Mayfair.
Born and raised in the small port town of Santurtzi, just outside of Bilbao in The Basque Country, Nieves’ upbringing centred around food from the start, accompanying her mother – a passionate home cook – everywhere from bustling fish counters to verdant weekend markets.
Calling London home for over 30 years, Nieves opened her first solo restaurant in 2018, Sabor – meaning ‘flavour’ – in Mayfair, and has been planning her next chapter ever since.
